Privacy policy
The whole thing, in order.
What we collect
Information you give us: name, business name, email, phone, town, and whatever you type into the guided intake, a contact form, or a sample-site demo form.
Information collected automatically: the pages you view on this site, the links you click, and basic technical details your browser sends. We measure this with our own first-party event tracking and with Google Analytics 4. We use it to see which pages and examples actually lead to conversations.
Call and chat content: if you call or chat with us, we keep a record of the conversation and any message you leave.
AI and call recording notice
We use AI across our process — strategy, planning, design, copywriting, and publishing. Calls and live chat may be answered by Henry, our AI assistant, depending on whether a human specialist is available.
California is a two-party consent state. Henry discloses at the start of a call that he is an AI assistant and that the call is recorded and transcribed. We do not turn recording off — if you would rather not be recorded, you can end the call and reach us in writing at hello@hollisterwebsites.com instead.
Recordings and transcripts are used to follow up accurately, quote scope, and improve our answers. They are not sold, and they are not used for advertising.
AI can make mistakes. Anything an AI assistant tells you about price, timeline, or scope is confirmed in writing by a person before you commit to anything.
How we use your information
To reply to you, scope a project, prepare a build brief, and deliver work you've hired us for.
To understand which pages, examples, and towns drive real inquiries, so we can improve this site.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Where it lives
Form submissions, intake answers, and click and conversion events are stored in our hosted database with access limited to the studio. Email lives with our email provider. Recordings and transcripts live with our telephony and AI providers. Analytics events are processed by Google Analytics under Google's own privacy policy.
Those providers process this information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
Inquiries and intake submissions are kept while we are in contact and for up to 24 months afterward, so we can pick a conversation back up. Client project records are kept for as long as we work together plus 7 years for tax and legal records. Call recordings and transcripts are kept for up to 12 months.
Your choices
Email hello@hollisterwebsites.com to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We respond within 30 days. California residents may exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including access, deletion, correction, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
You can decline AI assistance at any time and ask for a human. You can also skip the phone entirely and email us.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses only what it needs to function, plus measurement of page views, link clicks, and form submissions. Measurement comes from 2 places: our own first-party event tracking, and Google Analytics 4 (property G-9GX19008KP), which loads via the Google tag.
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (including _ga, which lasts up to 2 years) that assign your browser an anonymous ID so we can count visits and see which pages get read. We use it for measurement only. Advertising features, remarketing, and ad personalization are not enabled, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), or block cookies in your browser settings without breaking this site.
We also use Google Search Console, which sets no cookies on your device and collects nothing from you. It reports to us how this site appears in Google Search, using data Google already has.
Children
This site is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
We update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date above. Material changes are announced to active clients by email.
AI content notice
We use AI in every part of our process — strategy, planning, design, copywriting, and publishing content. We also use AI, our assistant Henry, to answer calls and live chat requests. AI can make mistakes. For clarifications or questions, please email us at hello@hollisterwebsites.com.
Privacy questions
Recording, deletion, and trackers.
Are calls to Hollister Websites recorded?
Yes. Calls are recorded and transcribed, and Henry, our AI assistant, gives you that notice at the start of the call. California is a two-party consent state, so the notice comes first — we don't stop the recording, but you're free to end the call and email us at hello@hollisterwebsites.com instead.
Do you sell my information?
No. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers. It's used to reply to you and deliver work you've hired us for.
How do I get my data deleted?
Email hello@hollisterwebsites.com with the request and we'll confirm and delete within 30 days, minus anything we must keep for tax or legal records.
Can I talk to a human instead of AI?
Yes. Ask for a person on any call or chat, or email hello@hollisterwebsites.com. Both reach a human, usually within one business day.
Do you use third-party advertising trackers?
No advertising trackers. We measure traffic with our own first-party tracking and Google Analytics 4, with advertising features turned off. Google's cookies (like _ga) count visits anonymously, and you can opt out with Google's browser add-on. Details are in the Cookies and analytics section above.
How do I opt out of Google Analytics?
Install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or block cookies from this site in your browser settings. Every page works the same either way.
How long do you keep intake submissions?
Up to 24 months after our last contact, so we can pick the conversation back up. Client project records are kept for 7 years for tax and legal purposes.
Is my information used to train AI models?
We use AI tools in our own work, but your information is not sold or handed over for third parties to train public models. Providers who process it for us are contractually limited to that purpose.
